Restoring Peace Remains Top Priority, Operations Against Terrorists Will Continue with Full Force: Balochistan Chief Minister

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed that restoring peace and maintaining law and order remain the provincial government’s top priorities, pledging that operations against terrorist elements will continue with full force.
The remarks were made during a series of separate meetings held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Monday with senior government officials, political leaders, and heads of public institutions to review the province’s security situation, governance, public services, and development initiatives.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan briefed the chief minister on the overall law and order situation, ongoing counterterrorism operations, security arrangements in sensitive districts, and measures being taken to protect the lives and property of citizens.
During the meeting, Bugti reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and strengthening the operational capabilities of the police force by ensuring the provision of all necessary resources.
The chief minister also met Inspector General of Prisons Captain (Retired) Asim Qaimkhani. The meeting reviewed ongoing prison reforms, security arrangements, prisoner welfare, rehabilitation programs, and efforts to improve the administrative efficiency of correctional facilities. Bugti directed officials to modernize prisons and further develop them as effective rehabilitation centers.
In a separate meeting, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) parliamentary leader Mir Saleem Khan Khosa discussed the province’s political situation, public issues, ongoing development projects, legislative matters, and public welfare initiatives with the chief minister.
Bugti said the provincial government remains committed to meeting public expectations, promoting transparent governance, and working with all political stakeholders to ensure Balochistan’s sustainable development.
The chief minister also met acting Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) Chief Executive Officer Shaukat Jogezai. Discussions focused on electricity supply, load management, improvements to the transmission and distribution network, ongoing development projects, and enhancing services for consumers.
Bugti instructed QESCO officials to utilize all available resources to ensure an uninterrupted and reliable power supply while taking prompt action to address public complaints.
Later, the chief minister visited a local hospital to inquire about the health of Muhammad Akbar. He wished the patient a speedy recovery and directed doctors to provide the best possible medical treatment.
Concluding the day’s engagements, Bugti said the Balochistan government is taking practical measures to improve security, strengthen governance, enhance public welfare, expand access to essential services, and increase the efficiency of government institutions. He reaffirmed that public service, transparent administration, and accelerated development remain among the government’s foremost priorities.
