Kolkata:Veteran Bollywood actor **Rajesh Sharma** has been hospitalized after being bitten by a venomous insect while filming a new movie starring **Prabhas> in southern India.

According to Indian media reports, Sharma is receiving treatment at **Manipal Hospital Dhakuria**.

Actress **Sudipa Chatterjee** shared a statement from the actor’s family on social media confirming that his condition had deteriorated.

The incident reportedly occurred at **Ramoji Film City**, where Prabhas’ upcoming film was being shot. After filming wrapped, Sharma was talking with members of the technical crew near dense bushes when he was bitten by an insect. Believing it to be a minor incident, he did not seek immediate medical attention.

Approximately six hours later, he developed severe pain in his right leg but still boarded a flight to Kolkata. During the journey, he developed a high fever, and his condition worsened.

Doctors treating Sharma said the venom-induced infection spread from his toes to his knee, causing large blisters on his leg. He has also experienced significant breathing difficulties.

Medical specialists have warned that the infection could lead to a dangerous blood clot in his leg, which could become life-threatening if it travels to his lungs. According to doctors, the actor remains in critical condition and is not yet out of danger.
