University of Balochistan Holds 60th Finance & Planning Committee Meeting

Quetta:The University of Balochistan convened its **60th Finance and Planning Committee meeting** under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor **Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai**, where the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 was reviewed. The session was held at the Syndicate Hall and focused on ongoing expenditure and future financial planning.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor presented a detailed briefing on the university’s **financial performance and upcoming fiscal strategies**. Members were provided with the full agenda, working papers, and budget proposals in advance to ensure comprehensive consultation on the allocation of resources in line with academic and administrative priorities.

The session was attended by senior officials including **Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali Baloch**, Vice Chancellor of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University Sibi **Basheer Ahmed Kakar**, representatives from the Balochistan Finance Department including **Additional Secretaries Jahanzeb Mandokhail and Muhammad Noor**, Governor’s representative **Muhammad Tariq Jogezai**, UoB Registrar **Nasir Mari**, Treasurer **Khushal Khan**, and Finance Consultant **Ghulam Farooq Badini**. Officials from the Higher Education Commission also joined online.

Key areas of discussion included **development projects**, enhancement of academic infrastructure, faculty development, student facilities, and promotion of research initiatives.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Dr. Bazai emphasized that **transparent financial management and efficient utilization of resources are vital for academic progress**. He noted that the proposed budget has been designed keeping in mind both present and future requirements, ensuring that the University of Balochistan continues to play a pivotal role in advancing higher education in the province.
