Massive Power Outage in Quetta and Several Balochistan Districts as 220kV Transmission Line Trips

Quetta: A sudden disruption in electricity supply has once again plunged Quetta and several districts of Balochistan into darkness after a major transmission line tripped, officials said.
According to the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), the 220kV “Ouch–Sibi–Quetta” transmission line connected to the Sibi WAPDA grid station tripped unexpectedly, resulting in a widespread power breakdown across the province.
A QESCO spokesperson confirmed that the breakdown has affected Quetta, Sibi, Naseerabad, Mastung, Nushki, Chagai, Pishin, Ziarat, and Chaman, leaving multiple districts without electricity.
Authorities said technical teams have been immediately mobilized to restore power supply, and efforts are underway to normalize the system at the earliest through alternative arrangements.
The sudden outage has caused severe inconvenience to residents, especially amid extreme heat conditions, with daily life and essential services significantly affected across the impacted areas.
