Islamabad Red Zone Closure: Government Offices Shift to Work From Home, Courts Shut for a Day

Authorities in Islamabad have announced that all ministries, divisions, and federal institutions located in the Red Zone will observe work from home today due to security-related closures.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, all officers and staff have been instructed to remain within the city and stay prepared while continuing their duties remotely.
Judicial activities have also been affected. The Federal Constitutional Court has suspended all proceedings for the day. In an official statement, the court confirmed that hearings in Islamabad will not take place due to restricted access to the Red Zone. Acting on the directions of the Chief Justice, a one-day judicial holiday has been declared.
The court’s cause list for April 21 has been canceled, while court staff will continue to work from home. Judicial officers, however, have been directed to remain at their designated postings. Branch registries will remain open to handle essential judicial and administrative matters.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court has also decided to remain closed on April 21. According to the Registrar, the closure is directly linked to the ongoing restrictions and inaccessibility of the Red Zone.
The measures come amid heightened security conditions, significantly impacting both administrative and judicial operations in the federal capital.
