US Chargé d’Affaires Praises Pakistani Hospitality, Cuisine, and Cultural Traditions

Islamabad – United States Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan, Natalie Baker, has praised Pakistani hospitality, cuisine, cricket culture, and vibrant wedding traditions, sharing her positive experiences of living in the country.
In an interview shared on the official Instagram account of the US Embassy, Natalie Baker highlighted her enjoyable experiences in Pakistan, saying she spends her free time with friends and explores different parts of the country to experience new places and cultures.
She said that after arriving in Pakistan, she developed a strong interest in cricket, although she is still in the process of learning the rules and finer details of the game.
When asked what Americans should better understand about Pakistani culture, she emphasized that the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people stand out the most.
Talking about Pakistani cuisine, Baker said that palak paneer is among her favorite dishes, while she also enjoys lentils (daal), tea, and pakoras, describing them as delicious and comforting.
She further praised Pakistani wedding traditions, saying she is fascinated by the colorful celebrations, from mehndi to baraat and walima, calling them a “magical series of events.”
