Pakistan Has Turned into a Security State, Situation in Balochistan Worst: Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch

Quetta – National Party Chairman Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has said that Balochistan is facing extreme helplessness, insecurity, and lawlessness, while Pakistan has effectively turned from a federal democratic state into a security state.
He made these remarks while addressing a condolence reference held on the death anniversary of party leader and former Balochistan Assembly member Shaheed Hani Derry Masih Baloch. The event was organized by the National Party in Quetta.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch criticized the federal budget, stating that nothing has been allocated for Balochistan despite the province contributing significantly to the federation’s resources. He said the province continues to be ignored in national policymaking.
He further said that instead of functioning as a constitutional federal democratic state, Pakistan is being run as a security-driven system where Parliament is powerless, the judiciary is constrained, and the media is under pressure.
The event was also addressed by National Party Central Secretary General Mir Kabir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, Provincial President Aslam Baloch, District President Haji Ata Muhammad Bangulzai, MPA Kulsoom Niaz Baloch, and other party leaders, while the proceedings were conducted by Riaz Zehri.
Dr. Abdul Malik paid tribute to Shaheed Hani Derry Masih Baloch, describing him as an ideological political worker who remained committed to democratic and national struggles until his last breath.
He also referred to recent incidents in Quetta, including a tragic case of family killings and suicide, and an acid attack on Dr. Mah Noor, calling them alarming signs of worsening social insecurity, particularly for women and ordinary citizens.
He criticized PDM parties, saying they have compromised democratic values through political deals and that “Form-47” assemblies lack public representation and cannot resolve the country’s crises.
Other speakers at the reference paid tribute to the late leader and stated that elections have been undermined through rigging, resulting in non-representative assemblies. They emphasized that Pakistan’s problems can only be resolved through genuine democracy, supremacy of the constitution, and granting constitutional rights to provinces.
