Karachi Launches Traffic Awareness Campaign Ahead of October 1 E-Challan System

KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police, in collaboration with Lok Suhayta, has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign on road safety and the upcoming faceless e-ticketing system.
According to a traffic police spokesperson, the campaign aims to educate citizens about the importance of traffic rules and familiarize them with the automated challan system, which will officially come into effect on **October 1, 2025**.
Under the new system, traffic violations will be detected through advanced CCTV cameras installed across the city. E-challans, backed by photographic or video evidence, will be issued without any manual interference and delivered directly to violators’ homes.
The initiative promises citizens a fair, transparent, and efficient law enforcement experience. Awareness pamphlets are being distributed at major city points, especially traffic signals, while volunteers, lady constables, and students are assisting police in educating the public.
Officials say the system will mark a revolutionary step towards making Karachi safer, more organized, and law-abiding.
