Heavy Clash Reported Between Security Forces and Armed Men on Quetta–Taftan Highway, Search Operation Launched
Quetta – A heavy exchange of fire was reported between security forces and armed men at Mile area on the Quetta–Taftan National Highway, creating panic among travelers and disrupting traffic flow on the key route.
According to sources and passengers present at the scene, armed individuals had allegedly set up a blockade on the highway when personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) reached the location. An intense gun battle then ensued between both sides.
Eyewitnesses reported that the firing continued for some time, forcing motorists and passengers to take cover at safe locations, while traffic on the highway was temporarily affected.
Security officials said that following the advance of security forces, the armed men retreated from the highway and escaped towards nearby mountainous and difficult terrain. A search operation is expected to track down the fleeing suspects.
No official confirmation regarding casualties or injuries has been issued so far, nor has any formal statement been released by the concerned authorities.
However, sources said that security forces have intensified patrolling and surveillance in the area to ensure the safety of travelers and restore normal conditions on the highway.
