Skywatchers to Witness Rare Six-Planet Alignment in February

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Astronomy enthusiasts are in for a rare and memorable celestial spectacle this February, as six planets will be visible in the night sky simultaneously.

According to international sources, this unique phenomenon, known in astronomy as a “planetary parade,” occurs when several planets of the solar system appear in a specific alignment. Experts predict that on the night of February 28, 2026, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune will be clearly visible. Mars will be the only planet not included in this parade, while the remaining six planets can be observed from different angles over several days. The northern hemisphere is expected to offer the best viewing conditions during the last week of February.

Most planets will become visible shortly after sunset, making observation easier with a telescope. Mercury and Venus will be visible for only 30 to 45 minutes, while Saturn and Neptune can be seen together. Jupiter and Uranus will remain in the sky for a longer duration.

The planetary parade will be observable from various parts of the world, but local times and angles will differ, so online astronomy services are recommended to determine the best viewing times. Experts note that three planetary parades are expected in 2026: six planets in February, five in April, and six again in August. These rare events not only stimulate scientific interest but also foster public curiosity and awareness about the universe.
