Iran’s President Denies Resignation Rumors, Says Government Remains United
Tehran:Iranian President **Masoud Pezeshkian** has dismissed reports of his resignation as baseless rumors, affirming that he will remain in office and continue carrying out his duties as president.
The Iranian leader also rejected speculation about disagreements with Supreme Leader **Mojtaba Khamenei**, stating that the government and the country’s armed forces remain fully coordinated and united.
Speaking to Iranian state television on the second anniversary of his administration, President Pezeshkian said that if he ever decided to resign, he would announce it personally. He stressed that he has no intention of stepping down at this time.
He accused certain groups of deliberately spreading the impression that differences exist between the government and the Supreme Leader, insisting that such claims are false.
According to Pezeshkian, his administration is fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities, while all state institutions are working together to safeguard Iran’s national interests through close cooperation.
Earlier, the Iranian president’s deputy information officer, **Mehdi Tabatabaei**, also denied the resignation reports, alleging that political extremists were intentionally spreading false information to undermine national unity and benefit Iran’s adversaries.
Political analysts say Pezeshkian’s remarks come at a time when Iran remains under intense international scrutiny because of domestic political developments and evolving regional tensions. His comments appear aimed at projecting unity within Iran’s leadership and dispelling speculation of internal divisions.
