Balochistan CM Reaffirms Support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, describing India’s August 5, 2019 decision to revoke Articles 370 and 35A as a unilateral and unlawful move.
In his special message on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir (Kashmir Exploitation Day), the chief minister said he, on behalf of the people of Balochistan, expressed complete solidarity with the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
Bugti stated that India’s decision to revoke the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 was an “illegal, unilateral, and internationally unlawful” action aimed at undermining the identity, rights, and historical status of the Kashmiri people.
He said the people of Indian-administered Kashmir have endured decades of oppression, repression, and serious human rights violations. He further alleged that efforts to alter the region’s demographic composition by turning Kashmiris into a minority in their own homeland violate United Nations resolutions and international law.
The chief minister said the people of Balochistan strongly condemn India’s actions and fully support the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
He emphasized that a just and lasting resolution of the Kashmir dispute is possible only in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Bugti also urged the international community to take effective notice of the alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir, raise global awareness of the situation, and press India to fulfill its international obligations.
He said the Government of Balochistan stands in complete solidarity with the federal government and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
Concluding his message, the chief minister said Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s commitment to stand by the people of Kashmir and continue supporting their struggle for self-determination, justice, and freedom through peaceful diplomatic and moral means.
