Grenade Attack on NP Leader Arif Saleem’s House Condemned as Attempt to Intimidate Political Workers

Quetta: Leaders of the National Party have strongly condemned a grenade attack on the house of party leader Arif Saleem in Turbat, describing it as part of a dangerous trend of fratricidal violence and an attempt to harass political workers.
Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch, central leader of the National Party and Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Balochistan Assembly, termed the attack a continuation of a “grave and dangerous game” unfolding in Balochistan. He warned that if such incidents are not stopped immediately, their destructive consequences could engulf the entire society.
He said that earlier, political and social figures were selectively targeted through incidents of target killing, and now attacks on homes are being carried out to spread fear among families. “This is not an isolated incident but a systematic attempt to destabilize peace,” he added.
Party president Abdul Malik Baloch also expressed deep concern over the grenade attack, stating that Arif Saleem Baloch and his cousin Naeem Baloch were seriously injured in the incident. He described Arif Saleem as an active and ideological political worker, asserting that such cowardly attacks cannot intimidate political activists.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch reaffirmed that the National Party would not retreat from its peaceful and democratic struggle under any circumstances.
Party leaders stated that turning political differences into enmity and fueling fratricidal conflict would lead to collective destruction in Balochistan. They demanded that the government immediately identify and bring the attackers to justice and ensure protection for the affected family, emphasizing that maintaining law and order is the constitutional responsibility of the state.
