Fazlur Rehman Questions Government’s Preparedness for Creation of New Provinces

Sukkur:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has questioned the government’s preparedness for the possible creation of new administrative units and provinces in the country.

Addressing a General Council meeting in Sukkur, Fazlur Rehman said, “Our governance has remained a cycle from Nawaz Sharif to Asif Ali Zardari and from Zardari back to Nawaz Sharif.”

He accused the government of attempting to deprive the nation of political awareness, stressing that Pakistan belongs to its people and that no certificate is needed to prove one’s love for the country.

Fazlur Rehman said the issue of creating new provinces had been raised, but questioned whether the necessary preparations had been made.

“You have raised the issue of provinces, but are you prepared for it?” he asked, adding that, in his view, Sindh was “not prepared at all” for the creation of a new province.
