Former Balochistan CM Sanaullah Zehri Expresses Concern Over Worsening Security Situation
QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central leader and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, has expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan and condemned the attack in Mastung that claimed the lives of Session Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar, his security guard, and other innocent civilians.
In a statement, Zehri offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured Additional Session Judge, the driver, and others wounded in the attack.
He said that Session Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar was travelling to perform his constitutional and professional responsibilities and to uphold the rule of law. Targeting such a dedicated judicial officer, he said, was not only an extremely cowardly act but also a direct attack on state institutions and the justice system.
Zehri expressed concern over the increasing incidents of terrorism, challenges to the writ of the state, highway blockades, attacks on passengers, and robberies across Balochistan. He warned that such incidents are deepening the sense of insecurity among the province’s residents and require immediate government attention.
The former chief minister urged the authorities to take urgent and effective measures to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He called for decisive and indiscriminate action against terrorists and anti-peace elements, stressing that the peaceful people of Balochistan should not be left at the mercy of terrorists and criminal groups.
He further said that it is the government’s foremost responsibility to safeguard the public, secure national highways, and implement concrete and long-term measures to fully restore peace and stability across the province.
