Quetta (Daily Qudrat): Pakistan Peoples Party Balochistan leader Hayat Khan Achakzai, reacting strongly to Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s recent statement, has termed it the height of his traditional emotional politics, hypocrisy, and political blackmailing.
In a strongly worded critical statement, Hayat Khan Achakzai said that for a person who has spent decades sitting in the halls of Islamabad and Karachi, enjoying privileges and power in the name of the Baloch people, to lecture others on honor and courage appears to be a grim joke. He said that when Akhtar Mengal wants ministries, privileges, and security protocols in the federation, then state figures and institutions are acceptable to him, but as soon as the mountain of power slips from his hands, he immediately plays the victim card and tries to bring young people before the state.
The PPP leader, challenging Akhtar Mengal, asked that if he is so eager to be honorable and courageous, then why does he not bring his own sons and close relatives out of their luxurious lives in Islamabad, Karachi, and Europe and bring them forward in this war? What kind of Sardari honor is it to sacrifice the children of the poor and simple Baloch for one’s own political interests on the roads and mountains?
Hayat Achakzai said that the real purpose of smearing leaders like Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti is that Akhtar Mengal sees the end of his own Sardari politics. The leadership that is working under the flag of a peaceful Pakistan for Balochistan’s real development, education, and employment has become a thorn in the eye of these traditional Sardars. Despite being in power for decades, these Sardars could not even provide schools, hospitals, and clean water in their own areas, and now they are resorting to emotionalism to cover up their failures.
He made it clear that the conscientious and enlightened people of Balochistan will no longer fall for the hollow words, political blackmailing, and sloganeering of these so-called Sardars. The future of the province lies not in bullets, provocation, and confrontation, but in constitutional supremacy, education, and staying connected to a peaceful, developed, and strong Pakistan like Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.
