No Final Decision on Sherani’s District Status Without Public Consultation, Says Balochistan CM
Zhob: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has stated that no decision regarding the administrative status of Sherani district will be taken without consulting local representatives and the public.
Addressing tribal elders and notables during his visit to Zhob on Thursday, the Chief Minister clarified that reports suggesting the government has decided to abolish Sherani’s district status are unfounded. He emphasized that no final decision has been made in this regard.
“The Government of Balochistan makes decisions in accordance with public aspirations and ground realities. No step concerning the status of any district will be taken without taking local representatives and the people into confidence,” he said.
Bugti noted that the issue of the prolonged absence of certain administrative officers in Sherani district had been discussed at a high level, along with matters related to the designation of an administrative headquarters. He assured that any confusion or concerns regarding Sherani’s status would be addressed through mutual consultation and dialogue.
The Chief Minister announced that another detailed meeting would be convened with Sherani’s Member of the Provincial Assembly, tribal elders, local residents, and district administration to conduct a comprehensive review of administrative affairs and improve governance.
He reiterated that the government’s objective is to strengthen the administrative structure and ensure the provision of maximum facilities to the people. Balanced development, stability, and effective governance across all districts of Balochistan remain among the government’s top priorities, he added.
Upon his arrival in Zhob, Bugti was warmly received by the public and tribal elders. He expressed gratitude for their hospitality, calling their trust and affection a source of pride.
