Five Killed, Several Injured in Shooting Near Youth Center in Northern Germany

BERLIN: At least five people were killed and several others injured in a shooting near a youth center in the northern German town of Stade, police said.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred in the Dankerstraße area, where gunfire erupted near a youth facility, triggering a major emergency response.
German media reported that police and emergency services swiftly cordoned off the area, while helicopters were deployed to assist with surveillance and security operations.
Police confirmed that two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate that there is no immediate threat to the public.
Stade, a town with a population of around 50,000, is located approximately 40 kilometers west of Hamburg.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
