Chinese Farmer Strikes Gold After Duck Yields Treasure
Islamabad: A farmer in a remote Chinese village discovered a fortune inside a duck he had prepared for dinner, turning him into an overnight millionaire.
According to local media, the farmer, named Zhang, was slaughtering a domesticated duck to serve visiting guests when he found hard, shiny objects in its stomach. Initially thought to be ordinary pebbles, the pieces revealed their true value after cleaning, astonishing everyone.
A local jeweler confirmed that the objects were pure gold nuggets. Experts believe the duck had ingested gold particles from nearby riverbanks while feeding, which over time accumulated into sizable nuggets in its stomach. The treasure is estimated to be worth hundreds of thousands of yuan.
The incident has sparked curiosity among other villagers, some of whom have begun inspecting their ducks and searching the nearby river for more hidden gold. Zhang said he had worked hard all his life but never imagined that a duck raised in his own yard would bring him such wealth.
