PTI Chairman Claims Victory on 15 Seats in Gilgit-Baltistan, Rejects Any Change to Mandate

Islamabad (Qudrat News) — Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, has claimed that his party has secured victory on 15 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections and warned that PTI would not accept any attempt to transfer its mandate to other parties.

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said that voting is the fundamental unit of democracy and that PTI had fielded 22 candidates in the elections. According to his calculations, the party emerged victorious on 15 seats.

He stated that awarding PTI only two seats while allocating its alleged 13 winning seats to others would be unacceptable. “The right to govern belongs to the party that has received the public mandate,” he said.

The PTI chairman also ruled out any power-sharing arrangement with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying PTI’s stance against both parties remains clear.

Barrister Gohar claimed that PTI had already won eight of the 17 seats for which results had been received and maintained a strong lead across the 24-seat assembly, ultimately securing victory on 15 seats.

Discussing the upcoming federal budget, he said PTI’s parliamentary committee would decide how to respond to the budget session. He stressed that regardless of political considerations, the government should focus on providing relief to the public, particularly amid rising utility and fuel costs.

He also criticized restrictions on meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan, claiming that party leaders had been denied access for 34 weeks. He argued that meetings should be restored on humanitarian and legal grounds.

Commenting on the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Gohar said disputes should be resolved through dialogue and understanding, adding that firing on peaceful protesters was wrong. He reiterated PTI’s support for peaceful protests and opposition to violence.

The PTI chairman further denied reports regarding the visit of any special personality to Adiala Jail and dismissed speculation about the existence of a forward bloc within the party, stating that PTI remains united.
