Court Approves Bail for Imran Khan’s Sisters, Expresses Anger Over Repeated Extensions

Lahore:A Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court on Thursday approved the bail applications of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, but not without expressing strong displeasure over repeated bail extensions and their absence from court proceedings.
During the hearing of two cases related to arson and vandalism on October 5, Judge Arshad Javed confirmed the interim bails of both sisters. However, he rebuked the defense for deliberately prolonging the bail process.
“You are intentionally avoiding court appearances. If you are reluctant to come to court, how will you go to the police?” the judge remarked, adding, “Don’t tarnish the reputation of the courts by dragging out bail proceedings for years.”
Judge Javed also referred to similar conduct in the case of senior PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, where bail was extended for eight months and then dismissed due to non-compliance. “Last time you said they were in Faisalabad. This pattern of evasion must stop,” the judge said.
Despite these remarks, the court confirmed the bail of Aleema and Uzma Khan, while warning against further misuse of the legal process.
