Lashkari Raisani Blames Balochistan’s Crisis on ‘Fake Leadership’, Announces Legal Challenge to Mines & Minerals Act 2025

Quetta:Senior politician and former Senator **Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani** has said that the ongoing administrative chaos, misgovernance, and law and order deterioration in Balochistan are the **deliberate creations of fake leadership**, designed to keep people distracted while **exploiting national resources and rights**.

Addressing a gathering of political workers at **Sarawan House**, Raisani declared that he will soon **challenge the recently introduced Mines and Minerals Act 2025 in court**, calling it **unconstitutional and against the spirit of the 18th Amendment**. He invited all political parties to **join his struggle** to restore the people’s control over Balochistan’s resources, saying, *“This is not a personal fight, but a collective movement.”*

Raisani warned that the **February 8, 2024 elections were nothing more than a selection process**, through which **preferred individuals were imposed** on the province for the next five years, compromising national interests. He questioned the silence of the sitting provincial and national assembly members, noting that in a few years, **they will return to the same society** and will be held accountable for **wasting the nation’s time**.

“The history is being written,” he said, “and the record will show which individuals and parties supported this so-called selection.” He also referenced past governments, accusing them of **selling out the province’s resources**—including the mysterious 2018 assembly session where he claims **billions of dollars’ worth of minerals were traded away**.

He lamented that despite the resource wealth, **locals are forced to work as daily-wage drivers**, transporting fuel in thousands of blue-painted vehicles.

Raisani sharply criticized the **current assembly members** for enabling **fake legislation** that has choked employment and development in Balochistan. He said that preparations are underway for **similar political engineering in the next election**, and urged **youth, students, and teachers** to rise to their **collective national responsibility**.

Highlighting the **grave injustice of the Mines & Minerals Act 2025**, he called on **Bar Associations (High Court and Supreme Court), labor unions, students, and civil society** to support his constitutional and legal challenge.

He announced plans to send an **open letter to all political parties, bar councils, workers, and the public**, and demanded that if assembly members **truly represent the people**, they must either **resign** or bring a **formal resolution against the Act** in the Provincial Assembly.

“The road to justice might be tough,” Raisani concluded, “but **challenging injustice is the only path forward** if we want to build a peaceful and dignified society.”
