UK Local Elections Deal Major Blow to Ruling Labour Party

London: United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party suffered significant setbacks in local elections, while Reform UK strengthened its political position with major gains across several key regions, particularly in northern England.
According to media reports, Reform UK won all 12 seats in Hartlepool and secured 15 seats in Halton.
In Wigan, the Labour Party reportedly lost 20 seats, while Reform UK emerged victorious in 23 seats.
Reports further indicated that several traditional Labour strongholds have now fallen under Reform UK’s control, increasing pressure and criticism surrounding Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s leadership.
Political figure Jonathan Brash also called on Starmer to resign following the election outcome.
Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats retained control of the Stockport council.
Political analysts believe the results indicate that Reform UK is rapidly emerging as a significant and influential force in British politics.
