Balochistan Excise Department Finalizes Launch of Smart Cards for Vehicles

Quetta — The Balochistan Excise and Taxation Department has finalized the decision to issue smart cards for vehicles registered in the province. Citizens will start receiving their vehicle smart cards within the next two weeks.
Secretary Excise and Taxation Balochistan, Syed Zafar Ali Bukhari, announced that agreements have been signed with two institutions, including the Government Printing Press in Karachi, for the production of smart cards for vehicle owners in Balochistan.
Bukhari further stated that with the introduction of the smart cards, the old vehicle registration book will be phased out. The new smart vehicle card, equipped with modern features, will cost vehicle owners Rs. 2,500.
