PM Shahbaz Sharif Condemns India-Supported Proxies for Destabilizing Peace in Balochistan

Quetta: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned India-backed proxy groups for intensifying efforts to disrupt peace and stability in Balochistan. The statement was issued following his address to a grand tribal jirga held at the Zahri Auditorium in Quetta, where he spoke alongside Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The jirga aimed to engage tribal leadership and discuss the evolving security situation in the province, with particular focus on India’s ongoing proxy war. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif highlighted that these proxies are attempting to destabilize Balochistan and hinder developmental initiatives led by the government and the armed forces.
He warned that terrorist groups like Fatah-ul-Hindustan seek local support, which must be denied at all costs. Appreciating the tribal elders’ leadership and positive role, Shahbaz Sharif stressed the critical need to ensure terrorists find no social space in the region, emphasizing that this is essential for the success of counterterrorism efforts and long-term peace.
The Prime Minister made it clear that enemies of peace have no place in Pakistan and declared, “The government, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and administration, with full public support, will take the war against terrorism to its logical conclusion and decisively defeat terrorism.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir echoed these sentiments, stating that India’s support for proxy wars in Balochistan is evident and a direct attack on the people, development, and peace of the region. He affirmed that concrete evidence links India to terrorist groups operating in Balochistan and assured that these nefarious attempts will fail.
He vowed that the Pakistani military, backed by the unwavering support of the nation and brave Baloch people, will confront and crush any domestic or foreign enemy challenging Pakistan’s sovereignty. The army remains fully alert and prepared to respond decisively to any threat.
Both the Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff praised the bravery and dedication of security forces and law enforcement agencies working in Balochistan. The Prime Minister assured full support for the families of martyrs and vowed that terrorists, their sponsors, and facilitators will not be spared.
At the conclusion of the jirga, tribal elders unanimously pledged to stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and armed forces, renewing their commitment to the security, stability, and development of Balochistan.
