Remittances Reach Record High, Reflecting Trust in Government Policies: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed immense gratitude to overseas Pakistanis as remittances reached a historic high, crossing the $4 billion mark in a single month for the first time ever.
In a statement on Monday, the premier said that the record-breaking remittances in March 2025—amounting to $4.1 billion—demonstrate the overseas Pakistanis’ strong confidence in the government’s economic policies. The total remittances for the current fiscal year have now reached $28 billion.
The Prime Minister highlighted that remittances in March 2025 saw a 37.4% increase compared to March last year. He noted that the announcement of this achievement during the ongoing Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad underscores the commitment, patriotism, and confidence that overseas Pakistanis have in the country’s economic direction.
“Overseas Pakistanis are not only the ambassadors of our nation but also the backbone of our economy,” said PM Shehbaz. “Their tireless efforts and dedication abroad illuminate the name of Pakistan globally while significantly supporting the national economy through their financial contributions.”
PM Shehbaz reiterated the government’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities and support to overseas Pakistanis, calling them a vital national asset. “The entire nation, including myself, takes great pride in the hard work and dedication of our overseas compatriots,” he added.
