Mega Sales Tax Fraud of 315 Billion Rupees Uncovered, Suspects Arrested, Search for Others Continues

Karachi: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) One has made a significant breakthrough in its investigation by uncovering a massive sales tax fraud amounting to 315 billion rupees in the iron and steel sector. The fraud involved two masterminds, Owais Ismail and Farhad, operating under the names Platinum International and KH Sons.
RTO One authorities have arrested several individuals who assisted in the fraud, including Farhad’s brother Shehzad, cousin Faisal, and well-known figure Ma’arif ur Rehman. On Friday, the suspects were presented in the Special Court for Customs, Taxation, and Anti-Smuggling, where the court took up the case. The court sent Farhad’s cousin Faisal and accomplice Ma’arif ur Rehman to jail, while Farhad’s brother Shehzad was remanded in RTO One’s custody for seven days.
Further investigations have been initiated by the RTO to identify additional accomplices and beneficiaries involved in the fraud.
Dr. Faheem Muhammad, Chief Commissioner of RTO One, commended the team’s efforts in exposing the sales tax fraud and arresting the involved individuals. He emphasized that RTO One is determined to continue its efforts to apprehend those involved in sales tax fraud and take appropriate legal action, sending a clear message against such illegal activities.
