Weather Forecast: Light Rain Expected in Some Areas of Pakistan

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in some areas of the country, while most regions are expected to experience hot and dry weather.
The weather department predicts that temperatures will remain high and dry in most parts of the country, with light rain expected in some upper regions. Islamabad and its surrounding areas are likely to experience hot and dry weather.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, districts such as Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, and Kohat are expected to remain very hot. Similarly, most districts of Punjab are also predicted to experience hot and dry conditions, while southern Sindh is likely to be under intense heat, with temperatures expected to rise further.
In most districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar, and Chaman, hot and dry weather conditions are anticipated. In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy, with light rain or drizzle in some areas, which will help reduce the intensity of the heat.
In Lahore, the temperature has already risen due to the scorching sun, with the current temperature recorded at 29°C. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 39°C. According to the meteorological department, there is a 5-10% chance of rain in Lahore, and the city is expected to experience cloud cover in the afternoon. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has reached 115, making Lahore the third most polluted city in the country.
In Karachi, the weather remains hot and humid, with the current temperature at 30°C and a forecasted maximum of 38°C. Winds from the west are blowing at a speed of 13 kilometers per hour. Karachi is ranked fourth in the list of the most polluted cities in Pakistan.
Additionally, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for the period from April 26 to April 30. Temperatures in Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan are expected to rise by up to 5°C during this period. From April 27 to April 30, temperatures in upper Punjab and Islamabad are forecasted to increase by 4-6°C, and a similar rise is expected in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The department further stated that the intensity of the heatwave is expected to decrease starting from May 1. Furthermore, rain is forecasted for the upper regions of the country from April 30, with the possibility of hailstorms during this period.
