Overseas Pakistanis Set Record with Historic $4.1 Billion Remittances in March

Karachi: Overseas Pakistanis have set a new record by sending the highest-ever monthly remittances to the country, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
In March 2025, Pakistan received a record-breaking $4.1 billion in remittances, marking the highest monthly inflow in the country’s history. This represents a 37.3% increase compared to March 2024 and a 29.8% rise from February 2025.
During the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July 2024 to March 2025), total remittances stood at $28 billion — significantly higher than the $21 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Breakdown of remittances in March 2025 from key countries includes:
Saudi Arabia: $983.7 million
United Arab Emirates: $842.1 million
United Kingdom: $683.9 million
United States: $419.5 million
The sharp rise in remittances reflects both the strong commitment of the overseas Pakistani community and the impact of recent policy reforms aimed at encouraging legal and banking channels for money transfers.
