Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani Slams Police Over Flawed Investigation in Murder Case

Islamabad: During the hearing of an acquittal plea in a murder case, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court expressed strong displeasure over the poor police investigation, holding it responsible for acquittals of accused individuals.
Justice Kayani remarked, “It is because of people like you that the accused get acquitted. When this happens, people curse the courts and the country.”
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that the item allegedly recovered from the accused was instead shown to have been recovered from the victim’s father. This flawed procedure ultimately benefited the accused.
Justice Kayani’s remarks underscore the serious concerns over investigative flaws that undermine the judicial process and public trust in the legal system.
