Hafiz Hamdullah Voices Concern Over Balochistan’s Worsening Situation
QUETTA:Senior Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Hafiz Hamdullah has expressed serious concern over the situation in Balochistan, saying that ongoing problems, insecurity, missing persons, military operations, bomb attacks and economic difficulties have severely affected the people of the province.
In a statement posted on social media, Hamdullah said Balochistan’s situation was marked by deaths, blocked highways, suspended trade, a struggling business sector, shortages of gas and electricity, and deprivation of the province’s mineral resources.
He said the people of Balochistan had been deprived of control over their coast and natural resources, while the law and order situation remained alarming.
Hamdullah said transport was being targeted frequently and attacks were taking place in different parts of the province, forcing ordinary citizens to live amid fear and uncertainty.
He also criticized the political situation, saying questions remained over public representation and respect for voters’ mandate.
“If the situation in Balochistan is like this, is the future of the entire country also heading in the same direction?” he asked.
The JUI-F leader said serious questions needed to be raised in the corridors of power regarding Balochistan’s problems, but such a role was not visible.
Hamdullah further remarked that if anything was growing in Balochistan, it was cemeteries, where the bodies of Baloch and Pashtun people were being taken.
Describing the situation as deeply tragic, he called for effective measures to address the province’s longstanding problems.
