Balochistan Assembly Members Demand Creation of New District Comprising Tamp and Mand

Quetta:Lawmakers in the **Balochistan Assembly** on Tuesday called for the creation of a new district comprising **Tamp and Mand** to address governance and service delivery challenges in the region.

Parliamentary Secretary **Mir Asghar Rind**, Advisor to the Chief Minister **Mina Majeed**, and Parliamentary Secretary **Barkat Ali Rind** raised the demand during the assembly session.

Mir Asghar Rind noted that worsening **law and order in Kech district** has severely affected both the education and health sectors. He said several recommendations had been made in the past to elevate Tamp subdivision into a district, but no action was taken. “Kech spans nearly 300 kilometers, and dividing it to form a new district of Tamp and Mand is necessary. All required formalities have already been completed,” he added.

Advisor Mina Majeed said that given its **population size**, Tamp and Mand were more than capable of being upgraded to district status. Supporting the demand, Barkat Ali Rind highlighted that the **combined population exceeds 300,000 people**, warranting immediate administrative restructuring.

Following the discussion, the Assembly session was adjourned until **Friday, 3 PM**.
