Legal Trade and Internet Suspended in Balochistan While Drugs and Bribery Flourish: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Emir and MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has alleged that legal border trade, businesses, highways and internet services have been disrupted in Balochistan while drug trafficking, illegal businesses and bribery continue to flourish.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its struggle against drugs, insecurity, corruption and all forms of injustice and oppression. He added that nationwide sit-ins and protests by the party would compel the rulers and powerful groups to address pressing public and national issues.

Speaking during meetings with various delegations and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman discussed the law and order situation and measures against drug trafficking.

He called for effective action against what he described as a “death squad” in Pishkan and urged the authorities to take all necessary measures under the law to restore peace in the area.

The JI leader also demanded an effective and indiscriminate operation against drug trafficking across Gwadar district, stressing that concrete measures were necessary to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs.

During the meeting, he also raised the issue of Levies personnel who were absent when the force was merged into the police and were subsequently dismissed from service. He called for their cases to be reviewed and for steps to be taken, in accordance with law and regulations, to restore their employment where appropriate.

The meeting emphasized the need for effective measures to improve law and order, eliminate drug trafficking and provide better protection to citizens across Gwadar district.
