Relief Granted to Imran Khan by Supreme Court Was Not in Accordance With Law, Says Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the relief granted to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan by the Supreme Court was not in accordance with the law, adding that the government is refiling its review petition against the decision to transfer him to Shifa International Hospital.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, Rana Sanaullah said the government was refiling the review petition challenging the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Imran Khan’s transfer to the hospital.

He said the government would comply with whatever decision was taken after the review petition was heard.

Rana Sanaullah maintained that the relief granted to the PTI founder by the Supreme Court was not legally justified.

Referring to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said Nawaz Sharif had been shifted to Services Hospital rather than a private hospital and was later allowed to travel abroad for treatment on the basis of reports prepared by doctors at Services Hospital.

Rana Sanaullah also said the government had invited the opposition to hold negotiations and was waiting for its response.
