No Political Party or Individual Above the State, Says Atta Tarar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has stated that no political party or individual can be placed above the state, emphasizing that national interest must always come first.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said Pakistan is playing a key role in the evolving situation in the Middle East and that its diplomatic efforts are being widely recognized globally. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for strengthening Pakistan’s position on the diplomatic front, adding that neighboring India is concerned about Pakistan’s growing influence.

Tarar noted that Pakistan has emerged as a strong and effective voice internationally, highlighting what he described as an extraordinary situation during recent discussions in Geneva.

He stressed that while criticism is everyone’s right, undermining the country’s dignity is unacceptable. “No political leader is bigger than Pakistan,” he said, adding that political differences should not come at the cost of national integrity.

The minister said Pakistan’s global standing has improved and that the country is now viewed as a responsible state. He credited the current government for steering the country away from default and putting it back on a path of economic stability and growth, noting that exports are increasing and the international community has acknowledged Pakistan’s economic progress.

Criticizing the opposition, Tarar alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had brought the country close to default during its tenure and even sought to damage Pakistan’s economic standing, including calls to revoke its GSP Plus status in 2024.

He also accused certain individuals abroad of running anti-Pakistan campaigns, naming Arif Aajakia and Zulfi Bukhari among those allegedly involved.

Tarar further claimed that PTI’s social media accounts failed to condemn Israel and criticized the party for what he described as negative propaganda against the country.

He concluded by stating that despite such challenges and alleged conspiracies, Pakistan will continue to grow stronger and that no such tactics can harm the country’s progress or global reputation.
