QUETTA: The Balochistan Bar Council has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack in Mastung that claimed the lives of a District and Sessions Judge and his security guard, while leaving an Additional Sessions Judge critically injured. Calling the incident an attack on the judiciary and the rule of law, the Council announced a two-day province-wide court strike and three days of mourning in protest.

In a press release, the Bar Council described the attack as a cowardly act of terrorism targeting members of the judiciary performing their constitutional and legal duties. It stated that such an assault on judges is not only an attack on individuals but also on the justice system and the principles of the rule of law, adding that no words are sufficient to condemn such a heinous crime.

Demands to the Government and Law Enforcement Agencies

The Balochistan Bar Council called upon the Government of Balochistan and all relevant law enforcement agencies to take immediate, effective, and concrete measures to ensure the safety and security of judges, lawyers, court staff, and citizens.

It demanded the immediate arrest of all those involved in the brutal attack and called for them to be brought to justice without delay.
