FIA Immigration System Restored After Hour-Long Outage at Airports Across Pakistan

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) immigration system at airports across Pakistan was restored after remaining suspended for approximately one hour, temporarily disrupting passenger processing and affecting international flight departures.

The system had gone down simultaneously at airports nationwide, including Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, according to airport officials.

The outage temporarily halted immigration procedures, leaving passengers stranded in long queues at FIA counters as authorities struggled to process travellers.

Airport officials said the suspension of the immigration system also affected the departure of international flights.

After remaining non-operational for around an hour, the FIA immigration system was gradually restored, allowing passenger processing to resume.

Despite attempts to contact them, FIA officials did not disclose the reason behind the nationwide system failure.

Sources said a similar disruption had occurred at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport around two weeks earlier, when the FIA immigration system also went down.

The repeated outages have raised concerns about the reliability of the immigration system and the potential impact on passengers and flight operations.
