Shoran Tribes Hold Jirga After Dam Blast, Kidnappings; Reject Illegal Taxes

**Shoran, Balochistan (Qudrat Daily)** – A significant jirga of the Rind, Lashar, and Zahri tribes was held in Shoran, District Kachhi, Balochistan, with participation from tribal leaders including Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Sardar Jalal Khan Lashari, and Mir Salahuddin Zahri, deputy of Sardar Sanaullah Zahri. The jirga addressed recent incidents and losses suffered by the tribes.
According to an official statement, on December 4, 2025, unidentified armed individuals claiming affiliation with a certain organization used explosives to destroy the Ab-e-Siah dam in Skleeji Wier, cutting off agricultural water supply to local farmers. When residents from Gajan and Shoran arrived to assess the situation, the armed men abducted eight individuals and took them to an unknown location.
The jirga unanimously decided that the tribes would not tolerate any form of oppression, financial demands, or illegal taxes. The tribal council addressed the organization’s leadership, urging them to instruct their members to refrain from causing economic or financial harm to the Baloch people, particularly the Rind, Lashar, and Zahri tribes.
The statement emphasized that historically, the Baloch tribes have never paid forced taxes and remain peaceful, expecting armed groups to reconsider their actions and avoid causing distress to the local population.
