Iran Claims Strikes on U.S. Military Bases in Bahrain After Latest American Attacks

TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have launched missile and drone strikes on U.S. military installations in Bahrain in response to the latest American attacks, saying the operation was carried out during the second phase of “Operation Nasr 2.”
According to an IRGC statement, the strikes targeted Al Juffair Base, including several weapons depots, a satellite communications center, and a key building used by U.S. forces.
The IRGC also claimed that the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain was targeted, alleging that fuel storage tanks caught fire. The statement further asserted that the attacks destroyed a Patriot radar system, the Fifth Fleet’s air-control radar, a C-RAM early warning system, and a control center for maritime drones.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it had completed its latest wave of military operations against Iran. U.S. officials said it was the third consecutive night of strikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure.
According to international media reports, explosions were heard in the southern Iranian cities of Bandar Abbas, Bushehr, Qeshm, Kish, and Abu Musa, while reports also emerged of missile strikes near the central Iranian city of Omidiyeh.
CENTCOM said the nearly five-hour operation targeted Iranian military facilities, coastal defense systems, missile and drone sites, and naval capabilities in Bushehr, Chabahar, Ask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas, using precision-guided weapons.
The U.S. military said the objective of the operation was to degrade Iran’s ability to threaten maritime shipping and conduct attacks at sea.
CENTCOM also stated that more than 50,000 U.S. troops are currently deployed across the Middle East and remain fully prepared to respond to any further escalation in the region.
