Trump Says Iran War Will End This Year
WASHINGTON:US President Donald Trump has said that the war with Iran will end this year, adding that it could conclude shortly after the November midterm elections.
Trump said Iran wanted to reach an agreement and had been maintaining continuous contact. However, he made it clear that he would not enter into any agreement with Iran that was not in the United States’ interest.
The US president also said he had no objection if Gulf countries held meetings with Iranian officials, describing such engagement as their own decision.
Trump further predicted that gasoline prices would fall rapidly as soon as the war with Iran comes to an end.
