Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani Re-Elected Unopposed as Wifaq-ul-Madaris President

Islamabad: Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani has been re-elected unopposed as President of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan for a second term during the organization’s joint electoral meeting held at Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi.

According to an official statement, Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari was also re-elected unopposed as Secretary General for a record seventh consecutive term.

The statement said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman proposed Mufti Taqi Usmani’s name for the presidency and also nominated Maulana Hanif Jalandhari for the post of Secretary General.

More than 1,000 members attending the meeting unanimously endorsed the leadership, expressing confidence in the newly elected office-bearers.

Under the new mandate, Mufti Taqi Usmani and Maulana Hanif Jalandhari will lead Wifaq-ul-Madaris for the next five years.

Congratulating the newly elected leadership, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said he hoped they would play an effective role in strengthening unity among religious seminaries and promoting Islamic values. He added that successful movements progress through firm principles, sound strategy, and clear policies, while differences of opinion should be addressed with respect, reason, and constructive dialogue.
