Senator Saifullah Abro Criticizes Alleged VIP Protocol for Anmol Pinky During Senate Panel Meeting

Islamabad: Senator Saifullah Abro, Chairman of a Senate subcommittee under the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, questioned the alleged special treatment being extended to suspect Anmol Pinky, claiming that no meaningful action would be taken against her.

Speaking during the committee meeting, Abro alleged that Anmol Pinky was receiving security and protocol exceeding that of the Prime Minister.

“Convoys of nearly 20 police vehicles accompany her. Even the Prime Minister does not receive such protocol,” the senator remarked, adding sarcastically that she might even receive a presidential award in the future.

During the briefing, Sindh South DIG Syed Ali Raza informed the committee that two Nigerian nationals had been arrested in connection with the Anmol Pinky case. According to police, two women associated with Pinky’s network had married the Nigerian suspects, who were allegedly involved in supplying narcotics that were later distributed in Pakistan.

The committee also discussed conflicting accounts regarding Pinky’s arrest. Senator Abro referred to an earlier briefing in which police reportedly stated that she had been arrested in Lahore, while the DIG informed the committee that the arrest had taken place in Karachi.

The senator called for an investigation into those allegedly backing the suspect, questioning how she was receiving extensive police protection while elected representatives struggled to obtain adequate security.

Abro further said that the alleged facilitators behind Anmol Pinky had yet to be identified and urged federal institutions to thoroughly investigate the matter. He expressed concern that the public remained unconvinced about the progress of the case and called for transparency in bringing all those allegedly involved to justice.

The committee reviewed the ongoing investigation and said it would continue monitoring developments in the case.
