UAE Waives Overstay Fines for Travelers Affected by Regional Conflict

ISLAMABAD/ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a waiver of overstay fines for individuals facing visa-related difficulties due to regional disruptions caused by the Iran conflict.

According to UAE authorities, a 30-day visa grace period has been granted to travelers affected by the ongoing situation. Eligible individuals have been allowed until July 9 to regularize their visa status without incurring any penalties.

Officials stated that the special concession has been introduced on humanitarian grounds to assist people stranded in the UAE due to the conflict and related travel disruptions.

The relief measure will benefit holders of tourist and visit visas, as well as individuals whose residency visas have been cancelled. Authorities said the initiative was necessary because many travelers were unable to leave the country due to airspace restrictions and flight disruptions.

UAE officials emphasized that the exemption is a temporary measure aimed at providing additional time for affected individuals to comply with immigration regulations. The waiver applies from June 10 to July 9, allowing eligible residents and visitors to resolve their visa status without facing overstay fines.
