Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrated Today in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey; Pakistan, India, Bangladesh to Celebrate Tomorrow

Riyadh: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervor today in several countries, including Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states, and Turkey. Major congregational prayers were held at the Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi, where millions of worshippers gathered to perform Eid prayers in a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz extended Eid greetings to Muslims worldwide, reiterating efforts to promote global peace and stability and praying for security and harmony for the Ummah.

Meanwhile, tensions escalated in Palestine as the Israeli military prevented worshippers from performing Eid prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Lebanon also observed Eid under the shadow of Israeli aggression. In Iran, Eid will be observed tomorrow.

Today, Eid is also being celebrated in Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, and Australia, where Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited a mosque in Sydney to join celebrations and extend greetings to the Muslim community.

In the United States, Eid-ul-Fitr was also sighted today, while a large number of Muslims across Europe, including the United Kingdom, have announced today’s observance.

In Moscow, preparations have been completed for major congregational prayers at mosques across the city. The central Eid gathering will be held at Moscow Jami Mosque, led by spiritual leader Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, with prayers scheduled for 7:00 AM. Additional gatherings will take place at historical and memorial mosques, with extra venues designated to accommodate worshippers. The main ceremony will also be broadcast on the national TV channel “Rossiya 1” to allow wider participation.

In Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and several eastern countries, the new moon for Shawwal was not sighted, and Eid will be celebrated tomorrow, Saturday, March 21. The Delhi Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Bangladesh Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed that the Shawwal crescent was not visible in their respective countries. Similarly, Eid in Indonesia will also be observed on March 21.
