Dubai Launches World’s Largest and Most Advanced Auto Market to Double Economy by 2033

DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates has officially launched construction of what will become the **world’s largest and most advanced auto market**, a landmark project inaugurated by UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Speaking at the launch, Sheikh Maktoum said the mega auto market is part of Dubai’s strategic plan to **double the emirate’s economy by 2033**. Dubai’s current auto trading sector is valued at **AED 6.8 billion**, and authorities aim to significantly increase this figure through the new initiative.
Spread across a massive **22 million square feet**, the upcoming Dubai Auto Market will have the capacity to handle **over 800,000 vehicle transactions annually**. The project will house **more than 1,500 showrooms**, designated workshop zones, warehouses, multi-storey parking facilities, an auction house, a convention center, hotels, retail outlets, and F&B spaces.
The auto market will be managed by **Jebel Ali**, Dubai’s major commercial port, chosen due to its extensive global network for automotive trade and re-export operations.
Designed as a one-stop global hub, the market will bring together trade in **electric, hybrid, and traditional vehicles**, strengthening Dubai’s position as a key link connecting rapidly expanding markets in **Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia**.
