Greater Coordination Between Rawalpindi and Islamabad Could Have Brought Global Honors, Says Khawaja Asif

Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that if there had been stronger coordination between Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the past, Pakistan could have already achieved several international honors.
Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, he said the country is going through a significant phase in its history, adding that the level of success achieved in recent times had not been seen in the past 78 years.
He stated that over the past three years, Pakistan’s efforts toward progress have begun to yield results, and praised what he described as “dividends of national efforts” achieved in recent times.
Khawaja Asif also extended congratulations to the Iranian leadership, saying Iran had represented its people effectively under difficult circumstances and expressed hope that longstanding injustices faced by Iran would now come to an end.
He added that national unity in the fight against terrorism would also lead to success, stressing that the struggle is a battle for all 250 million citizens of Pakistan. He further said political differences should be resolved while keeping national interest in mind.
On the foreign policy front, he emphasized the importance of learning from recent diplomatic achievements and called for unity on issues such as Palestine and Kashmir.
Referring to recent developments involving military leadership, he stated that the Field Marshal had “won two wars in one year,” describing successes on both military and diplomatic fronts, and expressing hope that this leadership would continue to achieve success in economic and counter-terrorism domains.
