Balochistan Government Empowering Women Through Technology, Not Extremism: Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta: Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that while terrorist groups attempt to exploit women as suicide bombers, the government of Balochistan is focused on providing women with opportunities for economic growth, education, and stability.

The chief minister made these remarks while welcoming the establishment of the province’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab for women entrepreneurs, calling it a historic step toward women’s empowerment and economic independence.

Responding to a post on social media platform X by Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Adviser to the Women Development Department, Bugti said the launch of the AI Lab may appear to be a small initiative, but in reality it marks a significant move toward making women financially independent and technologically empowered.

He stated that training for the first batch of 20 women entrepreneurs has already begun and that the program will gradually be expanded to all districts of the province so more women can benefit from modern technology, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy.

The chief minister said extremist elements seek to mislead women and youth toward violence and suicide attacks, but the provincial government is instead creating pathways for a positive and secure future through education, skills development, and employment opportunities.

He added that initiatives such as the Pink Scooty Scheme, scholarships, easy loan facilities, and the AI Lab are practical measures aimed at helping women become self-reliant and secure a dignified future.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed that the development of women and youth, along with quality education, vocational training, and economic self-sufficiency, remain among the top priorities of the provincial government.
