FIA Busts Human Smuggling Network in Quetta, Arrests Key Suspect

QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspected member of an organized human smuggling network involved in the illegal movement of Afghan nationals.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Quetta conducted a raid on the Western Bypass following a tip-off and apprehended a suspect identified as Sanaullah.
Officials said the accused is part of a coordinated network engaged in human smuggling. Two mobile phones recovered from his possession revealed links with other traffickers through WhatsApp communications, including chats, images, and records related to the illegal transportation of Afghan migrants.
Preliminary investigation also uncovered the suspect’s connections with an individual allegedly facilitating the bypassing of procedures of the National Database and Registration Authority during the voluntary repatriation of Afghan nationals.
Authorities further stated that the suspect maintained direct contact with human smugglers operating in the Spin Boldak area of Afghanistan.
A vehicle allegedly used for smuggling activities was also seized during the operation. The suspect remains in FIA custody, and further investigations are underway.
The spokesperson added that raids are being conducted to arrest other members of the network, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to taking strict legal action against those involved in human smuggling.
