PTCL Unveils Plan to Expand Fiber Optic Broadband to 10 Million Homes Nationwide

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced an ambitious plan to expand its fiber optic broadband network across the country, aiming to provide high-speed and reliable internet to 10 million homes.
The announcement was made during a financial briefing, where company officials highlighted that Pakistan currently has around 30 million households. The initiative is part of PTCL’s strategy to significantly increase fixed broadband penetration nationwide.
According to officials, PTCL currently provides broadband services to approximately 1.7 million homes. However, the company plans to substantially expand this coverage over the coming years through major investments in fiber infrastructure.
The company stated that strengthening fiber connectivity will support digital growth, remote work, online education, and the increasing demand for data usage across the country.
