Peshawar: The **Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)** has approached the **Peshawar High Court** seeking an order for the oath-taking of the newly elected **Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa**, **Sohail Afridi**.
According to **Samaa News**, PTI Secretary General **Salman Akram Raja** spoke to the media outside the Peshawar High Court, stating that the province could not function without a government and that the oath should be administered without further delay.
He said, “The new Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been elected, and the Governor should have been present in the province. Administering the oath is a constitutional requirement and cannot be delayed.”
Raja added that a formal request was being submitted to the **Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court** to resolve the matter today. “The Constitution empowers the Chief Justice to nominate any person to administer the oath if the Governor is unavailable,” he explained.
He urged the Chief Justice to exercise this authority promptly to ensure that the province’s administrative functions continue without disruption.
